It has to start with a first review and it was obvious to me to start with the first bottle of “real” whisky that I bought (with a gift certificate, thank you Audrey :D), the Aberlour 10yo.
A really enjoyable daily dram whisky, aged in sherry and bourbon casks, the ideal candidate to start your discovery of whisky. With an excellent (and almost unbeatable) value for money ratio.
Nose: Sweet and round, with a mix of fruity scents (mostly apples and pears) that let you know you’re with a Speyside whisky.
Mouth: Also smooth with these same fruity and sweet notes, especially of autumn pears. This whisky does not mark by its complexity but clearly takes the party of the fruity and it is very pleasant.
Finish: Long (it’s always a pleasure) and always on the fruity with a touch of spices (thanks to the sherry cask).
Note: 82/100
You’ll find it for a price around 25/30€ (if it’s more, look for it elsewhere), for that price you would be wrong not buying it.
